  • Ka
  • An innovative and radical Ford vehicle from the small car segment, with a unique and individual styling. In the Egyptian culture, Ka means the spiritual part of an individual believed to survive the body after death. The first glimpse of the concept Ka back in September 1993 (before New Egde arrived). For Fritz Mayhew, Ford's chief European small-car designer, the Ka styling inspiration was an award-winning design arrived in a bottle of mineral water. The New Edge approach, which includes the sharp edges and swooping curves, was studying by Mayhew, in 1994, inspired by a Evian water bottle in a restaurant.

  • Kadenacy effect
  • A spring effect of the gas, in a two-stroke engine; when a port opens abruptly, as is the case with a rectangular exhaust port, the cylinder pressure gives rise to a positive pressure wave transmitted down the exhaust pipe at the speed of sound. The gas, initially, rushes away in opposite directions from the higher-pressure combustion zone, then rushes back to fill the lower pressure vacuum of the combustion zone created when the gas first rushed away.
