This is our show case and hub for the Cruise-In. We welcome one and all to participate by sending in pictures of your streetrod, custom, or antique car. Please include a brief description of the car, what it's powered by, and any unique qualities that you think make it stand out from the rest. It would also help if you gave a brief bio of yourself too, so that we may get to know you better. (You may include a pic of yourself if you want.)
Lot #2
Cadillac Hearse
Here's a couple of pics of my "rod". It's not your typical cruiser but its a fun ride. Its got a 501 Cad motor with a TH 400 3 speed/overdrive
automatic tranny. It's basically stock except for a Holly 650 double pumper carb, Mallory ignition, and a B&M shift kit. The interior is topped off
with purple neon lighting and a 600 watt stereo system. At almost 6,000 pounds it gets only about 5 mpg, but who cares? (Sonny Rockets)
A daily driver!! And I do mean daily! I share Bob's enthusiasm. Don't let any grass grow under em. Besides, I can't stay out of it. It's a '73 Plymouth Satellite
Sebring in nearly mint condition. Most people don't have a clue what it is and those that recognize the body think it's a Roadrunner. However, I love it. It was
purchased from an elderly man in Arkansas in need of only a paint job, battery and tires. It still has the factory drive-train in it (i did rebuild the tranny in the
summer of '98) and everything is intact and working (even the factory air with new freeon) and I dont' have Sonny's trouble with mpg. Believe it or not, this thing
gets 22 mpg on the highway and about 18 in town. It has plenty of torque still as well, the original 318 will pull away from someone at 80mph just the same as it will
at 20. It does have 14" mags on it since it came with 14's. However, the limited slip is pretty good about hooking both tires up off the line so I don't lose much
traction. It's not a virtual power house like some of these cars but Mom (of all people!!) has had it well over 120. And it doesn't waste any time getting there. That's
not bad for a motor that's almost 30 years old!! I'll drive it "till she goes" because I hate to mess with that gas mileage.
This 1980 Jeep CJ was brought back from a rusted out, plain ol' jeep. Owned by Anita & Greg, it took over two years to rebuild, as both of them were in the USAF at the time, and were being moved around a lot. Greg even had to replace the frame, so they basically rebuilt it from the ground up. Now with a 258 cu. in. engine and 410 gears, they drive it daily. The first time out they took a Top 30 trophy. Nice work Greg & Anita.
1956 Chevy
"My car is a 56 Chevy 210 2dr. Sedan (whew!) It's runnin' a 283(??I'm not tellin'!), Turbo 350, original rear. It's been in primer for about a year now, and I'm in no hurry to paint it! (gotta love that primer--a scratch? Who cares!)" .... Jason
