are of Wheeler Dealer II, in February '69. We had just finished the
car, and took it to OCIR to fire the motor for the first time, and to
check things out. It wasn't a race day, so we couldn't make a pass.
(The car made its maiden runs at LIONS the following weekend.) - |

The lineup shot
is just before the parade lap, and first round, at the March '68 Professional
Dragster Assn. Championship race. My car, the Wheeler Dealer, is in
there along with Garlits, Baney/Prudhomme, the Ramchargers, Warren-Coburn-Miller,
Larry Dixon Sr (Fireside Inn A/MFR) and a few other unidentified cars.
We ran the Ramchargers in round one, and got beat. Later that day
we were awarded the Best Appearing Crew award. |
