Repair and Maintenance Log for my 97 Dodge Ram:

7-21-97 00028 miles
Shelled out $12,030.05 plus my 94 Chevy K2500 Light Duty (That I never had any problems with.)

Dealer finally had the truck prepped and ready to go!

8-??-97
Truck had to spend two days at the paint shop to get minor and major paint flaws fixed and replace
several pieces of the tape stripe separating the red and gray paint. Several spots had over spray on
them also blend lines at the bottom were done poorly. Had several inclusions in the paint and under
stripe. Paint shop did a nice job on this.

11-25-97 02727 miles
Dealer did first oil change. Asked for 5w-30 oil for the winter as recommended by owners manual.

4-11-98 05078 miles
Oil change, filter and lube. Decided since the mileage was not going to be excessive that I should
switch to a good synthetic oil and just change oil every 6 months, regardless of the miles. I use Mobil 1,
10W-30 for spring and summer and 5W-30 for fall and winter.

7-17-98 07091 miles
License Plate lights-Both were corroded so bad that bulbs could not be changed. Replaced both
sockets with new hard plastic kind. The old type apparently letwater and salt wick up the wire. OK

7-28-98 07133 miles
Trailer Plug-Spring on door is broken. At first this was replaced with aftermarket type, but my camper
plug did not work with this style due to limited room for door to open, so dealer had to use MOPAR
factory plug. This meant three trips to the dealer. OK

9-30-98 08260 miles
Oil Change, Lube and Filter. Added just a touch of power steering fluid.

10-7-98 08323 miles
1. Steering stabilizer was leaking oil. Replaced with new. OK

2. Chirping sound like a siren coming from dash. Noticed this first on a very hot day. Truck was
closed up and locked. When I started the truck the chirping sound started and it was there no matter
what I did. Sounded like a rotating noise and of course I shut fans and AC off first - no luck. Very
intermittent. Only shutting the truck off and restarting would make it stop. Previously on at least two
occasions I noticed the tape player was on and it thought a tape was in it. When the chirping sound
happened, you could not tell the tape player was on. This would have been hard to find except the
service manager heard me make the sound and said he knew what it was, since one other truck had
the same problem before. Replaced tape deck. OK

3. Antifreeze only set at -10F. Added AF to get optimum (according to dealer) of -34F.OK
