The Minolta 16 Accessories
This page is a gallery of the various accessories available over the
years for the Minolta 16 line. It is in no way complete, but will be updated
from time to time.
This
attachment set for the 16-II is very much sought after because it contains
not only a Y48 filter, #1 and #2 close-up lenses, but also
the very scarce #0 distance lens. The #0 lens gives the 16-II the ability
to focus to infinity at all apertures.
The
color filter set for the 16-II included an 80A, 81B, and 1A skylight filter.
The camera came with a UV filter as standard equipment, but is often missing.
This
adapter clamps onto the Minolta 16-I or 16-II, providing a flash shoe on
top and a tripod socket on the bottom.
Here
is a 16-I with the adapter clamp and the original fan flash unit. If it
looks cumbersome, that's because it is! Later, Minolta would produce the
"Baby B-C III flashgun" and the "Duofit-S flashgun" which both used tiny
AG-1 flashbulbs.
The
hard-to-find #1 and #2 close-up lens set for the 16P/16Ps. There were also
2 filter sets available, one with UV and Y48, and the other with 80A, 81B,
and 1A filters.
A
neutral density filter for the 16EE. There was also a filter set available
that included the #1 and #2 close-up lenses, and Y48 filter.
This
is the color filter set for the 16EE that includes the 80A, 81B, and 1A
filters.
The
Baby B-C III flashgun with case and flash bracket. The bracket fits the
16EE, 16EE-II, and 16P series. The flash used AG-1 flashbulbs.
The
original Minolta 16 developing tank. The center spool/agitator is missing
from this example, making it useless.
Later,
Minolta introduced this daylight loading tank that could handle 2 rolls
at a time. Unfortunately, using it required breaking the cassettes to fit
them in. Since cassettes are no longer being made, this practice would
not be a good idea today.
The
Minolta Mini-16 enlarger. It came with a 30mm f/4.5 E. Rokkor lens, and
had various negative masks available including 8mm, and Minox 8X11.
This
Minolta 16 professional enlarger was very sturdy and well made. It only
came with a 10 X 14mm negative mask, so it could not be used with film
shot in the MG-S or QT.
Close-up
lenses and filters for the MG-S. The close-up lenses had an extra lens
that fit over the viewfinder to correct for parallax.
The
adjustable MG-S copy stand. The legs extend from 8 inches to a maximum
of just over 13 inches. The close-up lenses shown above have to be used
for the camera to focus this close.
Another
view of the MG-S copy stand with the legs extended. Perfect for copying
those top secret documents.
