(my Ford will look somewhat like this when I finish)

Well, I guess I ought to tell you a little about this project of mine; it's a bit of an interesting story so stick with me here.  My father purchased a 1940 Ford DeLuxe at the age of 16 and, with the help of my grandfather, restored it over the next year or so and it became his first car.  He managed to disable one engine through the ingenious plan of running the car low on oil.  Fortunately, the only damage was to the engine and no one was injured in this vicious plan of his.  At that point, he replaced the original engine with it's current  engine, a 1947 Ford Flathead V8.  He took the car to school with him.  The rear axle broke, and my father replaced it with a two speed rear axle.  The car then sat at my grandparents house for some time, and at some point (in 1980 we believe) my grandfather rebuilt the rear brakes; it was eventually towed to our home.  It then sat under our deck for twelve years, and as you can imagine changed from it's pristine condition into what now is in need of restoration.  We then moved to NY, and brought the car along with us because the restoration project of "The Ford," as we affectionately call it, was to be mine and my father's.
My father and I are now the second generation of our family to restore "The Ford," and I am the second generation to have it as a first car.  We cleared the garage and began to take stock of our situation.  We then began by removing everything that was not permanently attached to the frame except the main body.  When we explored the contents of the glove box, among a mouse nest and other findings were an extra gas cap, a replacement shock absorber part, and receipts for gasoline at $0.42 a gallon.  Boy, I wish!  We have begun to list the car parts that we will need to purchase...  Needless to say (because you could probably tell) this will not be a stock restoration.  I am a 17 year old for goodness sake, so cut me some slack.  I wanna give it just a little more power, but more about that later.  For more specifics, please see my links above.  As this is my first car and I am new at this, I would appreciate any advice, information, or other help.  You can e-mail me at:
