Here are the newest trip we made on Memorial Day Weakend. We went to Halsey Nebraska with the club ( ELKHORN RIDGE RUNNERS ) We had planned to go to Rosser Round Up in Tennesee, but for some unforseen reasons we couldnt make it. The club had invited us to Halsey and we desided to go, it was closer and a shorter trip. To tell you the truth, it was better than I expected. My husband & I didnt expect much but we got more than we expected, cool huh?
We left Friday after my husband closed the shop. We met with Johny Bravo, his wife KC and my brothet inlaw and his grilfriend at club 81 in Humprey. From there we drove to halsey, which was about a 3 hour drive.
We arrived at Halsey like about 11:45 PM. The campground was full but some of the ERR were supposed to be there already so we drove trough the campground looking for them and didnt find them. So we setup camp in the pic nic area. The next morning as we were getting up CHEESE (a friend of us, funny nick huh?) drove up in a black dodge and thold us were they were camping. As it turns out the park ranger told them that they could camp up by the beginning of the trail which was up the mountain (more like sand hill in Nebraska) There we got together and planned the rest of the day...
We made a run like about 11 AM. It was just My 4runner, my husbands GM and Johnys S10 (you can see those pics on my husbands page)
The plase had lots of everything, sand, trees, open trails, narrow trails and more. We dindt have time to explore the whole place, it was BIG! On this pics you can see some of the sand trails we drove on. My Husband aired down the tires on both vehicles which helped tons on some areas.
As you can see on this pics, there was lots of open praire. The wind mills all had numbers which you could use to locate yourself in the maps that were available at the rangers place. On the second pic you can glance a bit of some starnge person to the left of the pic...... Oh never mind,,, thats my husband..... LOL
This pic was taken by my brother in law. He was literraly hanging out the pasanger side window.
This were taken driving dow a light slope. It doesnt look bad on the pic, but believeme it felt bad driving down it...
On this pic you can see my 4Runner, my husbands GMC, and Larrys 2 Broncos. This is at the top of a hill, a sandy hill...
Just more sand trails. If you live in nebraska and you are looking for a place to go 4wheeling, go to HALSEY. It is set apart for offroading, from dirtbikes, quads, jeeps and any 4x4. We plan on making more trips down there, specially since my husband bought himself a Quad. For more pics of this place go to my husbands page, you will see a link on my main page..... TATA for NOW,,
