Theron R. Gittins, formerly of Griswold, died at the Veterans hospital
at West Los Angeles, Cal., Friday evening, according to word received here today.
Mr. Gittins was born south of Griswold May 25, 1897, and was a son of William J. and Della E. Gittins. He served
in Battery A, 63rd coast artillery during the war and was overseas for about a year. He has been in poor health
the pst ten years and has been in a hospital a considerable portion of the time.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Katherine Gittins and Ruth Jean Gittins, his father, W.J. Gittins, and
a brother, Harlan Gittins. R.H. Shifflett, formerly county auditor of Cass county, and now a resident of Long
Beach, Cal., is his grandfather. Burial will be in California. |
