Painting the Jeep
For paint, I wanted something inexpensive, easy to touch up, maintenance free, and something
that doesn't show dirt well. A Desert Camo paint job fit perfectly into these parameters.
To obtain the "inexpensive" part, I went to a paint supply store and purchased some industrial
water tank primer. I had my colors mixed in, at $20.00 a gallon, this is hard to beat. Primer
is flat, so it doesn't shine, adding to the "Camo" effect.
Touch ups will be a snap, as I can just rattle can primer the area until I get enough surface
to warrant firing up the compressor and getting out the gun to repaint the "color" scheme.
The motor was removed for painting the body, and was rebuilt at this time.
Enjoy the following pictures!

After painting, the gas tanks were fabricated and installed, the seats were installed,
along with all the other interior items. I fabricated a clutch mount, a rear winch mount,
made the lower shock mounts, and installed the RS9000 shocks. A steering column was made,
using a circle track quick disconnect.Pictures of each follow.

I decided to increase the wheelbase by 5", taking the wheelbase out to 97".
This was accomplished by moving the rear back 3", and the front forward 2". Unfortunately
for me, I had already made the front driveline, and the rear driveline was already ordered
from High Angle Drivelines, thinking I was only going out an additional 1.5"! One look at the shaft Jesse built, and I knew I would have a
tough time breaking it! Jesse specializes in bombproof custom one ton CV shafts. It seems
the same quality and craftsmanship that goes into his specialty line, spilled over into my
request for a standard shaft. Take a look for yourself!

The Jeep has been on it's first shakedown cruise as of this writing, no major surprises to
this point, all has actually worked well.
After 10 months, allot of hard work, thought and preparation, I would like to take this
opportunity to thank the following for making this project a reality for me:
