[Brakes & Brakes paddle]- the brakes purpose is the opposite of the engine purpose. While the engine provides power/thrust, the brake increases the friction in the wheels, causing the scooter to stop. There are numerous types of brakes, the most common for the scooter is the regular bike type brakes. You can use a disk type brakes that are used in motorcycle, But it cost way more.

The brake paddle is responsible for adjusting the amount of friction needed. By squeezing the paddle the brakes are squeezed to the wheel, increasing the friction and eventually stopping the scooter.
