In 1998, he built a 1976 Ford Courier Pickup.  He did all of the building, driving, and mechanical work on this pickup.
He won the points championship at Summit Raceway in Elko, NV and should have won the points championship in Battle Mountain, NV for the 1998 racing season.  They took that one away from him because he didn't join that racing association soon enough. So, he ended up with a third place trophy.
