begun.
We will try to keep you up to date on Dan's placings.

 
 


 

May 8, 1999; 2nd in the trophy dash, with a flat tire, first in the heat and didn't  finish  the main, went mud bogging and killed the engine when it drank some water. Will have the new engine in this week.

May 15, 1999; won the heat race and the main. Raced in the snow!!! Guess there is a first time for everything. *G*

May 22, 1999; 2nd in trophy dash , 1st in the heat and 2nd in the main. Spun out  and didn't have enough laps to catch first place .  O'well cant win them all *S*

June 5, 1999; raced in Battle Mountain, NV.
1st in the trophy dash, and 2nd in the main.
 Lost the alternator and had to borrow one, so couldn't  run in the heat .

June 11 & 12, 1999; Dan won all the races, Friday night and got 2 more trophies .
On Saturday, he won the trophy dash and the main event, would have won the heat too but caught on fire and had to go in the pits for a sec and ended up taking 2nd. It was a good weekend!!! Now he has 4 more trophies to add to the collection !! *LOL *  and a case of beer to boot (it was the "Bud Shootout," at  Summit Raceway in Elko, NV.)  !!! *LOL*

This is a bit off the beaten path, but if you follow this link you can read how the races went and also read about a special guy by the name of  David Byrnes.  He  is  deaf, but one heck of a driver.  Click on his pic to read the article about him and get caught up on the racing results.

Winners at Summit Raceway's OFS Firecracker Special included (standing, from left) Jeff Tripp and Dave Ingle (Cruiser Class), Dave Byrnes (Pro Stock), Dan Basanez (IMCA Modified), Dan Waldemar (Mini Stock) and race sponsor Bruce Frazier of OFS, and (kneeling) KRJC radio disc jockey Sean Marks.

As you can see, Dan is sitting 3 rd in the points at Summit Raceway in Elko, NV.  He would be doing much better, but he has had to work and missed a few of the races.
July 17, 1999
2nd in the time trials, 3rd in trophy dash , 1st in the heat race and won the main. 6 for 6 in Elko. Not bad!

Dan will miss the next race in Battle Mountain.  He has to work graves:(

July 31, 1999
Dan won the heat and the main.

August 7, 1999
Raced at, Fernely NV .  The track is a 3/8 dirt. There where 9 minis but only 6 started the main. Dan, finished second in the heat and trophy dash and won the main on the last lap.

August 28, 1999;
Won the trophy dash, and blew up the engine . Spun the number one rod bearing trashed the  crank.
