After purchasing my 93 Grand Cherokee in December of 97, I stumbled upon Camp Jeep. After looking into it, I decide I wanted to go. Man, I couldn't wait. I registered in May and I was going nuts trying to wait until August.
Finally August arrived and it was time to hit the road. I picked up my girlfriend (at that time) and we were off. Camp Jeep flag flying the whole way from Chicago,Illinois to Vail,Colorado. 18 straight hours of driving couldn't subdue my excitement, though I was pretty tired.
We checked into our hotel, showered, then took a nap. Got up a few hours later and checked out the town. Jennifer had as much fun as I did but, her fun was laughing at me. I was a kid in a candy store, JEEPS EVERYWHERE!!!
Also, we did a little white water rafting while we were there. One of the most exciting experiences I have had. I got to jump out, not tossed out, of the raft and experience how COLD the water was. Ever watch Seinfeld? Does shrinkage mean anything to you? The guide even let me do the guiding at the end of the trip.
Anyway, check out some of the pictures Jen and I snap while we were there. Some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen...I hope you enjoy!
This is the only mishap I know of
at Camp Jeep. The story is a man and is godson were driving
back to the main road, from Camp
Jeep. A bee had flown in the window. The guy started swatting
at it. He wasn't watching were
he was going and ended up rolling his ZJ. Nobody was hurt, they
had there seat belts on, Thank
God.
